Trauma-Informed Integrative Therapy

A trauma-informed approach understands that many/most of us experience adverse or traumatic experiences as part of our human journey, and that our identities, history, values, social & cultural context, relationships and many other factors impact the ways we respond to the various challenges we face throughout our lives. With this in mind, trauma-informed therapy prioritizes the values and practice of trustworthiness and transparency, collaboration and mutuality, empowerment and choice, supportive community, and the co-creation of a brave space that is safe for vulnerability and growth.

An integrative approach attends to all aspects of a human’s identity and experience, and seeks to bring together aspects of the self that may have been isolated or separated by difficult experiences or social/cultural expectations. Integrative therapy acknowledges and attends to a person’s emotional, cognitive, social, physical, behavioral and spiritual identities and experiences, as well as the impacts of contextual, cultural, environmental, institutional, political, historical, relational, intergenerational and interpersonal factors. Integrative therapy also looks to identify strengths, skills, abilities, beliefs, values, commitments, and wisdom and explore both internal and external resources for healing.

In my role as a therapist, I am committed to seeing and honoring the wholeness and innate value of every person who consults with me, and partnering with you to gather up supports and sustenance for all of who you are and are becoming.
